Why Perth?

A Town Built for Weddings

Perth has been called the Wedding Capital of Eastern Ontario by the Town itself — and it earns that title. The heritage stone buildings, the Tay River winding through Stewart Park, the compact downtown packed with local restaurants and independent shops — it all adds up to a setting that's genuinely hard to beat.

Perth's Heritage buildings

Heritage Setting

Perth was founded in 1816. Its limestone buildings, stone bridges, and century-old trees provide a backdrop that no modern venue can replicate — and it photographs beautifully in every season.

Everything in One Town

Venues, caterers, florists, photographers, hair and makeup, rehearsal dinner restaurants — Perth has a full wedding ecosystem. Guests can walk between the ceremony and dinner without getting in a car.

Stewart Park

Five acres of manicured parkland on the Tay River, right at the heart of downtown. An outdoor ceremony here, with the water behind you and Code's Mill in the frame, produces wedding photos that people frame.

Year-Round

Peak season is May through October, but Perth's indoor venues are open year-round. A January wedding in a restored 1843 stone mill by candlelight is its own kind of unforgettable.

Easy to Reach

Perth is about an hour from Ottawa and 90 minutes from Kingston via Highway 7. Guests travelling from Toronto, Montreal, or the US have a straightforward drive to a town that feels a world away.

Perth's Wedding Venues

Perth has a range of venues for every style and guest count — from an intimate stone loft to a full ballroom for 250. Perth Plaza isn't a wedding venue, but we know every one of these well, and we're a short drive from all of them.

Perth Is Worth Staying For

One of the best things about Perth as a wedding destination is that it rewards guests who stay more than one night. The town has a full weekend's worth of things to do — and your guests will thank you for recommending a base that makes it easy.

Friday evening

Rehearsal dinner at Gather or Rocky River Cafe. First look photos at Stewart Park. A quiet drink at the 1827 Wine & Cheese Lounge or Bridge Masters Brewing.

The wedding day

Morning coffee from Tim Hortons or Starbucks (both nearby). Getting ready in the Jacuzzi Suite. Ceremony at your venue. Guests stroll between Code's Mill and the park.

The morning after

Breakfast at Penny's Place on Dufferin Street — a Perth institution for a proper morning meal. Or a slow walk along the Tay River Trail before heading home.

For those staying Sunday

Gore Street antique shopping. A tasting at Top Shelf Distillers. The Kiwi Gardens if the weather is good. Perth is very good at Sundays.

Wedding Accommodation — FAQ

The most common questions we get from couples planning a Perth wedding.

Perth Plaza is a motel, not a wedding venue — but that's exactly what makes us useful. We're where your guests sleep before and after the celebration, a short drive from every major venue in town. See our venue guide for the best ceremony and reception spaces in Perth.
We have 26 rooms across 9 configurations — from Standard Queens to Kitchen Suites sleeping up to 4 — giving you capacity for around 60–70 guests under one roof at a consistent, predictable price.
We're happy to discuss group bookings. Use our enquiry form or call us directly and we'll do our best to hold a block of rooms for your guests.
Code's Mill on the Park is about 5 minutes by car. Stewart Park, the Crystal Palace, and the Perth Parkside Hotel & Spa are all within the same distance. The whole town is very compact — nothing in Perth is far from anything else.
Peak season runs May through October, when Stewart Park and Last Duel Park are at their most beautiful for outdoor ceremonies. That said, Code's Mill and the Crystal Palace are available year-round, and a winter wedding in a 180-year-old stone mill has its own kind of magic.
Our King Jacuzzi Suite is a spacious, private room — popular with couples for exactly that reason. It's also large enough to use as a getting-ready space during the day. Check availability or mention it in your enquiry.
